Snack in a Mug - College Style

One of the "pantry items" I'd keep supply of close by while at college was this. At my parents' house I'd often sneak (I was such a rebel 😂) a second packet into a one packet use size mug. I'd really enjoy the extra richness & especially the thickness. Actually, the thickness aspect got to be so enticing, though I'd no idea (How could I've?! Darn ad marketing! 😄) that it was the pure processed sugar which was enticing me all along, that I was soon attempting to add in even more packets...Typically I'd add in up to four packets in a brimming average-sized mug. The packets came two attached together, so grabbing four packets (two times two) was simple enough.

It would become the consistency of this, or, if I'd not incorporated much water (I didn't have very large mug; it was rather standard), then its consistency resembled that of this instead. It was a pleasurable delight which left me bouncing off walls - studying walls - as I'd often assemble this concoction while at my desk & needing to focus on class material.

A bummer to indulging in this "recipe" of mine was that I'd often run low [read: out of it] too quickly. 😂 Using multiple packets, nearly an entire box (I think they're six to a box, maybe eight.) in one quick moment as I spooned the mixture to stir it & enjoy it too, made for it to run low quite often & quite quickly. I'd run out of space in the mug because there was too much mix for the amount & size of the mug. Also, the mix had been engineered to mix into the water best when it was warm, or even hot - I'd done neither of those things & heating it up would've been, well, work with the nearest microwave a distraction away from my studying & too complicated for its own good. So completing the mixing always proved challenging...though the exciting chocolatey sugar boost made it all the worthwhile! 😂

There was no explaining to Mom & Dad as to why this particular item had been finished up quite so rapidly. During any routine phone conversation there wouldn't be a section where I'd be asked, "Need anymore dorm room grub?" Well, I don't think my parents have the word, "grub" in their vocabulary, so that's there...Essentially, unless it was sometime like St. Nicholas Day or St. Valentine's Day, "express" packs of any sort weren't sent over to my college post office box.

What I'd receive in those mailings would've been whatever the "on sale" or discount items around might be. In fact, most of this that I'd of had in my dorm room would've either been on sale & with a manufacturer's coupon, or it would've been a generic brand. All was well as long as I could mix it up into the applesauce/pudding consistency. 😂
