For many of the same reasons & needs that I found it necessary to, well, update, the hangers I'd been using for my tops, I also found it necessary to transition to alternative hangers for my skirts & pants. It seemed to only make sense since what I'd been using for my skirts, & many of my pants, were the
standard white hangers with
these clips (in white) affixed. They'd slide, or shift, or simply fall off. Oftentimes they'd leave markings at the clipping joint on the waistband. Or, with the pants, they'd not hang properly just being folded over the base of the standard white hanger. It became necessary to upgrade & move on. Many of the pants & skirts I'd buy at the department store, when I'd be getting
these with my new tops, would come on
these (though most of mine are the clear variety). Then I noticed I went to a few other places & got a few of
these. It may have been a flea market or a rummage sale. They're all very similar, yet slightly different all at the same time. They are also the varieties that hang well from the notches below the neck of
these.
I find these newer hangers to be easier to manage where my clothes don't slide around or bunch up & the clips don't interfere with the weave of the fabric; the few that may be jeopardized, I place tissue or something similar overtop the waistband to avoid damage.
Incidentally, as I've always kept all of these hangers, never knowing when any might break, or, more importantly when I might buy something which didn't come with a hanger of its own, yet found it best to hang it up, I'd have the spare hanger I needed for it. Through my constant purging, reconsidering, & donating of many of my clothes, I'm finding myself with a few boxes full of not-being-used hangers. Next up is being able to part with all of the additional ones. After all, they are only taking up quality space in storage.
