Memorial Day is upon us. A day when many gather together to enjoy food prepared atop a grill. Yards (if it's good weather đ) will be filling up with, what I call, "camp fire smell". And I love it.Hamburgers & hotdogs are the mainstays of the day. Some will step it up with wurst & other meats. Beans are likely to be present, as are versions of both potato salad & broccoli salad. Ketchup, mustard, & relish too, will line the condiment area. Diced or sliced onions, tomato slices, & leaves of lettuce will adorn a dish for those who wish to add them atop their sandwich.
Some might also have an array of these. Snacks can be welcome at these occasions & these types of snacks can be the best option. Suited for one, & more than one option, leaving nary a complaint. Candy on the side might be a nice compliment; these certainly have the salty snacks covered.
Have croquet or bocce ready, or maybe your crowd is more akin to card games. Some fun options for tykes if they'll be joining your company too: a swing set & slide; perhaps a sandbox. Possibly on the extremely creative & crafty side: a scavenger hunt. This could also depend on the age variable of the tykes. I think the scavenger hunt could be the best idea; I think that's because I wouldn't mind participating đ.
